Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, on Wednesday visited the House of Assembly quarters to present the 2025 Appropriation Bill in line with the Supreme Court’s judgment but found the gate locked.

Speaking to reporters, the governor, who was accompanied by some executive council members, said he had officially notified the Speaker and lawmakers through letters, calls, and messages before his visit.

“I came this morning with some EXCO members to comply with the Supreme Court judgment. I had earlier contacted the Speaker and other lawmakers via phone and also sent an official letter.

“Unfortunately, upon arrival, we found the gate completely sealed, with no sign of any activity,” Governor Fubara said.

He added that his actions were in the best interest of the state and remained hopeful for a response from the lawmakers.
