The Chairman of Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni LGA (ONELGA) in Rivers State, Prince Isaac Umejuru, marked his first 100 days in office on Saturday, February 1, 2025, with a record-breaking empowerment program.
As part of the initiative, 25 grinding machines and 25 industrial sewing machines were distributed to women, while 50 youths received 25 tricycles and 25 motorcycles to support their livelihoods.
The event’s highlight was the presentation of official cars to councillors and 11 additional vehicles to individuals who have significantly contributed to the administration’s progress.
Rivers State House of Assembly Leader, Hon. Sokari Goodboy Sokari, handed over the empowerment items, while the Chief of Staff to the Rivers State Governor, Ehie Edison, praised the initiative, describing it as a model of Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s “Rivers First” mantra.
In addition, several key projects were commissioned, including:
Healthcare Centre, Okpurukpuali – Commissioned by Rivers State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Adaeze Chidinma Oreh.
Assembly Hall, Obite – Named after Deputy Governor Prof. Ngozi Nma Odu and commissioned by Hon. Sunny Wokekoro.
Community Secondary School, Mgbede – Commissioned by Prince Obi Ohia, S.A to the Governor on Environmental Sanitation.
Ogbidi Ultra-Modern Market – Commissioned by Dr. Edison Ogerenya Ehie.
Joint Task Force (JTF) Quarters, Omoku – Commissioned by Major Dyan Joshua on behalf of Garrison Commander General Sanni Ahmed.
ONELGA Legislative Council Complex – Commissioned by Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Victor Oko Jumbo.
Residents hailed the projects as a major step towards development, expressing appreciation for the improved infrastructure. The administration reiterated its commitment to delivering more impactful projects for ONELGA’s progress.
