Bayelsa State Government Signs MoU with Dangote Group to Boost Economic Development

Bayelsa State has taken a major step toward economic transformation as the state government, under the leadership of Governor Douye Diri, received Africa’s richest man and business mogul, Alhaji (Dr.) Aliko Dangote, GCON, at the Government House in Yenagoa for a strategic business visit.

During the high-profile meeting, the Bayelsa State Government and Dangote Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a rewarding economic partnership across multiple sectors including agriculture, oil and gas, power generation, sports, education, the blue economy, and infrastructure development.

Governor Diri, speaking after the ceremony, expressed his excitement about the collaboration, noting that the visit aligns with the investment drive of his Prosperity Administration. He emphasized the administration’s unwavering commitment to sustainable progress and job creation for the people of Bayelsa.

“I am excited at the interest shown by Alhaji Dangote to join us in harnessing the various natural resources to build new business opportunities that will stir economic activities and create new jobs,” the governor stated.

The governor also extended his appreciation to Dr. Dangote for his commendation of the government’s performance and leadership over the past five years
