Warri Youth Group Hails the Delta State Governor Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori and Amb. Dr. Toyin Agbolayah’s Peace Efforts, Describes Them as Unifying Forces in the City of Warri and Delta State
Warri Youth Voice for Good Governance (WYVGG), a socio political youth advocacy pressure group based in Warri, has applauded Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Community Development, Amb. Dr. Toyin Agbolayah, JP, for their contributions to peacebuilding, social harmony, and grassroots development across Warri and the wider Delta State.
In a statement jointly signed by the President of the group, Comrade Eboma Tuoyo, and its Secretary, Comrade Toju Buwa, the organisation commended Governor Oborevwori for what it described as his visionary leadership and commitment to fostering peace, unity, and sustainable development throughout the state. The group noted that the governor’s administration has continued to promote inclusive governance and social stability, creating an environment conducive to progress and peaceful coexistence among the diverse peoples of Delta State.
The group also praised Amb. Dr. Toyin Agbolayah for his consistent efforts in promoting harmony among the various ethnic nationalities residing in Warri. According to the statement, Agbolayah has distinguished himself as a bridge builder and advocate of peaceful engagement, particularly at a time when dialogue, understanding, and mutual respect remain essential to maintaining stability in the oil rich city.
Speaking on behalf of the organisation, Comrade Tuoyo described Agbolayah as “an ambassador of peace whose interventions have consistently encouraged dialogue, mutual respect, and adherence to the rule of law.” He said the community development adviser has remained unwavering in his commitment to resolving disputes through peaceful means and has continued to encourage residents, especially young people, to embrace unity and collective progress rather than division and conflict.
Thus, the youth leader further stated that the peacebuilding approach being championed by Agbolayah in Warri reflects the broader vision of Governor Oborevwori’s administration across Delta State. He noted that both leaders have demonstrated a shared commitment to strengthening social cohesion, promoting community engagement, and advancing developmental initiatives that directly impact the lives of ordinary citizens.
“Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and Amb. Dr. Toyin Agbolayah are progressive minded leaders who have consistently shown dedication to the ideals of peace, unity, and development. Their efforts have inspired confidence among the people and reinforced the belief that sustainable progress can only thrive in an atmosphere of harmony and inclusiveness,” Tuoyo stated.
According to WYVGG, Governor Oborevwori’s developmental strides across critical sectors of the state’s economy have earned him widespread goodwill among Deltans, who continue to benefit from policies and programmes aimed at improving infrastructure, strengthening institutions, and enhancing the welfare of citizens. The group described the governor as a leader whose administration has remained focused on delivering tangible dividends of democracy while fostering unity across the state’s diverse communities.
Subsequently, the group also attributed the effectiveness of Agbolayah’s peace initiatives to his deep grassroots connection and accessibility. It noted that his understanding of local dynamics and commitment to engaging community stakeholders have enabled him to build trust, resolve tensions, and encourage cooperation among different groups within Warri and its environs.
WYVGG expressed optimism that the continued leadership of Governor Oborevwori and the community based interventions of Amb. Dr. Agbolayah would further consolidate peace, strengthen inter-ethnic relations, and accelerate development across Warri and Delta State.
