The leadership of the Ugbarajo Itsekiri Youths (UIY), under the directives of its President, Comr. Joseph Okotie, alongside members of the national executive council, has successfully concluded a comprehensive familiarisation and unity tour across Itsekiri communities within the four zones of Warri Kingdom.

This visit was birthed after the first National Congress held in Warri South at Chief Eyewuoma Hall, Esisi Road, Warri, where several committees were inaugurated, including the Electoral Committee (ELECO), to ensure the smooth running of the administration. The congress brought together Itsekiri community leaders from across Warri Kingdom for fruitful deliberations with the national executives of the Ugbarajo Itsekiri Youths.

The tour was undertaken to appreciate the steadfast support shown by Itsekiri communities toward the Crown and the youth body, to strengthen the bond between the national leadership of UIY and community chapters executives, and to establish a unified policy on employment in Warri kingdom. It also provided an avenue to discuss development initiatives, youth empowerment, security concerns, and the collective progress of Warri Kingdom.

The delegation commenced the tour in Warri North, where the UIY leadership engaged with community chairmen and their executives. Discussions centred on employment, collaboration, strategic development, community security, and advancing the collective interests of the Itsekiri people. The timely engagement reinforced unity, cooperation, and shared purpose between the national UIY leadership and the community-based youth structures.

The team proceeded to Ologbo Community in the Edo/Delta Central Zone, where Itsekiri chairmen and executives from Uvwie, Sapele, Ethiope West, Okpe Local Government Areas, and the Edo State region gathered for deeper deliberations. This convergence demonstrated the geographical spread of Itsekiri communities and reaffirmed their shared commitment to unity, cultural preservation and regional collaboration.

In the Warri South-West Zone, the national executives embarked on a two-day familiarisation tour to Ogidigben, Ugbegungun, Bateren, Deghele, Bobi, Orere, and several other communities. These engagements highlighted the central role of the riverine axis in the cultural, historical, and economic life of the Itsekiri nation. The leadership emphasized the need for continuous youth involvement in peace-building, safeguarding royal directives, and strengthening community development initiatives. The proposed employment policy was also deliberated upon.

The familiarisation tour concluded in Warri South, where the community chairmen and their executives convened at Ugbuwangue Community for a strategic dialogue with the national executives. The discussions focused on developing effective frameworks to unify all Itsekiri youth bodies, strengthen coordination across communities, and explore new avenues for job creation, empowerment, and socio-economic advancement.

Ugbarajo Itsekiri Youths reaffirms its unwavering commitment to promoting unity, fostering peace, and driving holistic development across all Itsekiri communities. The familiarisation visits mark a renewed resolve to build stronger ties, elevate youth participation, fight unemployment and advance the growth and stability of Warri Kingdom under the guidance of the revered Crown.
