Access, presence, and purpose defined the high-level working visit of His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR, the Olu of Warri, to critical oil and gas facilities operated by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), under the coordination and leadership of Prince Collins Oritsetimeyin Edema, Sole Representative of the Olu of Warri to NNPCL.
Through the facilitation of Prince Collins Oritsetimeyin Edema, the Olu of Warri embarked on an extensive operational tour of the Olero Oil Field, Dibi Field, and Abiteye, all strategically located within Itsekiri land. The visit was a purposeful working engagement rather than a ceremonial appearance, aimed at gaining firsthand insight into operations, host-community relations, environmental standards, and compliance with statutory obligations.
Prince Collins Oritsetimeyin Edema played a central role in bridging the Palace and the national energy institution, translating royal access into meaningful engagement and structured dialogue. His involvement underscored a deliberate strategy of informed oversight and constructive partnership between traditional leadership and NNPCL.
During the visit, His Majesty reiterated the Palace’s firm position that oil and gas exploration must deliver tangible development, environmental protection, and long-term benefits to host communities. The presence of the Olu of Warri across these key facilities sent a clear message of renewed engagement, accountability, and determination to safeguard the interests of the Warri Kingdom.
The working tour stands as a strong testament to purpose-driven leadership, with Prince Collins Oritsetimeyin Edema, Sole Representative of the Olu of Warri to NNPCL, anchoring a results-oriented approach that converts presence into influence and access into sustainable outcomes for Itsekiri communities and the wider Niger Delta.
