Port Harcourt Refinery To Be Shut Down For Maintenance
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has announced a scheduled maintenance shutdown of the Port Harcourt Refining Company (PHRC), set to begin on May 24, 2025.
In a press statement signed by Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi Soneye, the company emphasized that the shutdown is part of a planned maintenance and sustainability assessment aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and energy security.
NNPC Ltd. assured the public that it is working in collaboration with relevant stakeholders, including the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), to ensure a transparent and efficient process throughout the maintenance period.
The Port Harcourt refinery, one of Nigeria’s major refining assets, has been undergoing phased rehabilitation efforts aimed at restoring it to optimal capacity.
