PICTORIAL: Obotebe Kingdom, Burutu LGA Revives Aziza Festival in Mid-Year Thanksgiving Celebration
Traditional worshippers in Obotebe Kingdom in the heart of Burutu LGA have concluded their Mid-Year Thanksgiving with a week-long period of intense spiritual activities, including rituals of renewal, consecration, purification, and sanctification.
Led by Priest Ellington Bakumor, the festival culminated with the installation of a new Opu Osain Karewei, a significant spiritual figure within the Obotebe traditional religious hierarchy.
The event also celebrated the long-awaited revival of the Aziza Festival, a cultural and spiritual celebration deeply rooted in the heritage of the kingdom.
The festival, which had not been observed for several years, drew widespread participation and rekindled traditional fervor among the people.
Throughout the festivities, worshippers offered prayers for peace, the growth and prosperity of Obotebe Kingdom, and the advancement of the Ijaw nation.
The successful completion of the week’s ceremonies underscores a deepening commitment to cultural preservation and spiritual continuity within the Obotebe Kingdom, Burutu LGA.
