A disturbing video of the attack, which has gone viral on Facebook, shows Mr. Iheanacho being beaten by a group of youths. In the footage, he is seen being forced to sign a document, believed to be a resignation letter, while being whipped and threatened with sticks and a cutlass.
The protesters are demanding the immediate arrest and prosecution of those involved in the assault. They also want the Police to investigate the incident thoroughly and bring the perpetrators to justice.
Following public outcry, the Rivers State Police Command has confirmed that an investigation is underway, and top council security officers have been invited for questioning
