Okere Community Presents Newly Sworn-In Youth Executives to the Olu of Warri
Warri, Delta State | Monday
The leadership of Okere Community on Monday formally presented the newly sworn-in Okere Community Youth Executives to the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR, during a courtesy visit to the Royal Palace in Warri.
Hence, the visit marked a significant milestone in Okere Community’s ongoing efforts to strengthen unity, ensure leadership continuity, and deepen youth participation in community governance and development.
Furthermore, the delegation was led by the Ogieboro-in-Council under the leadership of Chief Kofi Kartey, representative of the Olare-Aja of Okere Community, and included other respected members of the Okere Elders Council. Also present was the leadership of the Okere Community Management Committee (OCMC), led by its Chairman, Mr. Fred Olomuro, reflecting broad-based community support for the newly inaugurated youth leadership.
In addition, the youth executives were led by their Chairman, Comrade Sisanmi Jalogho, and the Secretary, Comrade Tsemaye Popo, alongside other executive members. They were formally introduced to the revered monarch as part of the visit, which was aimed at seeking royal blessings, reaffirming loyalty to the throne, and pledging the youths’ commitment to peace, development, and responsible leadership within Okere Community.
In his response, the Olu of Warri warmly received the delegation and commended the community for sustaining its long-standing traditions of order, respect, and inclusiveness. His Majesty offered prayers and blessings for the new youth executives, urging them to lead with wisdom, humility, and a strong sense of service to their people. He emphasized the critical role of youths in community development and charged them to be ambassadors of peace and progress.
In conclusion, the visit concluded on a note of renewed commitment to collaboration among traditional institutions, community leadership, and the youth. Stakeholders described the engagement as a positive and timely step toward fostering harmony, strengthening governance structures, and promoting sustainable development within Okere Community.
