National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, has announced that oil production in Ogoniland is set to resume soon, more than three decades after operations were halted.
Ribadu made the disclosure on Thursday during a presentation at the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Summit. This follows President Bola Tinubu’s earlier declaration of plans to restart oil extraction in the region.
In a related development, the Ogoni Dialogue Committee concluded its consultations in March regarding the proposed resumption and is expected to submit its findings to the federal government in the coming weeks.
