Major Micah Polo Charges Okere Youths on Discipline, Unity and Community Service

Major Micah Polo yesterday paid a courtesy and familiarisation visit to the newly sworn in leadership of the Oma Ologho Youth Association of Okere Community, in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State. The visit, described by youths and even elders from the community as timely and symbolic, was aimed at strengthening ties between elders, leaders and the youth constituency of the Itsekiri nation.

Addressing the gathering of Okere Youths, Major Polo commended the new youth leaders led by it’s Chairman Sisanmi Jalogho and Secretary Popo Tsemaye for their laudable and visible commitment, zeal and dedication to the fight against drug abuse, street cultism and other social vices that have continued to affect a large population of youths. He emphasized that the resolve shown by the youths of Okere is an ideal representation of an accelerating and growing awareness that the future of the community rests largely in the hands of the youths.

He urged the youth leadership to remain committed and dedicated in upholding the dictates of the rule of law, stressing that true leadership is measured by service to humanity, firmness, and respect for constituted authority. He encouraged them to pursue their duties within the confines of the law of the land, while promoting unity and peaceful coexistence among youths across Okere and other neighbouring communities.

Responding on behalf of Oma Ologho Youth Association of Okere, the youth leaders led by it’s Chairman Sisanmi Jalogho expressed appreciation for the visit and pledged to sustain the campaign against social vices while working with community stakeholders to promote development projects.

In conclusion, he reaffirmed his commitment and dedication to His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III CFR, the Olu of Warri, the larger Itsekiri people and Okere people promising to channel the energy of the youths toward advancing education, skills acquisition and community building efforts that would secure a stable and prosperous future for Okere.
