Ijaws of Ogbe-Ijoh Head to Court of Appeal, Challenge INEC Report as Fraudulent
The Ijaw people of Ogbe-Ijoh have taken their legal battle to the Court of Appeal, challenging what they described as a fraudulent report issued by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
According to the group, the move is reflected in three separate appeals filed to contest the credibility and findings of the INEC report, which they allege contains serious irregularities and misrepresentations.
Speaking on the development, Chief Robinson Ariyo condemned the report, describing it as a validation of what he called “massive fraud” allegedly embedded in the electoral body’s documentation.
Chief Ariyo maintained that the decision to approach the Court of Appeal was necessary to seek justice and ensure that due process prevails.
He argued that the appeals would expose inconsistencies and alleged manipulations contained in the report.
The Ogbe-Ijoh Ijaw community insists that the legal challenge is aimed at protecting the integrity of the process and safeguarding the interests of the people.
Further details surrounding the appeals and the court proceedings are expected to emerge as the matter progresses before the appellate court.
