Empowering Every Child: Itsekiri Young Elites (IYE) Extend Back-to-School Outreach Beyond Public Walls
Education is widely regarded as the great equalizer, yet access to adequate learning resources remains a challenge for students across various socioeconomic backgrounds. Challenging the conventional narrative that educational outreach should exclusively target government-owned institutions, the Itsekiri Young Elites (IYE) have made a powerful statement in their ongoing back-to-school drive.
In a recent phase of their community intervention program, the IYE team lead by the president Comr Lily-white O Esigbone and Secretary Comr Tuoyo Eboma extended their reach to private educational institutions within Warri, specifically visiting Excellent International School, Ajamimogha and Divine Learners Academy, Ekurede Community.
While public schools often bear the brunt of infrastructural deficits, many students in low-income private schools face similar hardships. Families striving to provide private education often do so at great financial sacrifice, leaving little room for auxiliary school supplies, books, and learning aids.
By stepping into schools like Excellent International School and Divine Learners Academy, the IYE demonstrated a holistic vision of community development: true educational support recognizes no boundaries. Every child, regardless of whether they sit in a public or private classroom, deserves encouragement, essential supplies, and the validation that their community believes in their potential.
The initiative went beyond merely handing out materials; it served as a powerful motivational experience for the students, teachers, and school administrators alike.
The success of this phase of the back-to-school drive underscores the commitment of the Itsekiri Young Elites to youth empowerment and educational advancement. By championing the idea that educational support belongs wherever children are learning, the IYE continues to set a remarkable standard for civic leadership and philanthropy in the region.
