Delta State PDP Governor, Sherrif Oborevwon Joins APC!
Yes, it is confirmed that Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). The announcement was made on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, following a closed-door meeting at the Government House in Asaba. Governor Oborevwori cited long-term development goals and extensive stakeholder consultations as reasons for his decision .
This move is part of a broader political realignment in Delta State ahead of the 2027 general elections. Notably, former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and other PDP members in the state have also joined the APC .
In preparation for this transition, Governor Oborevwori is reportedly planning a cabinet reshuffle to include APC members in his administration .
