COMR. EBOMA TUOYO CORRECTS THE MISLEADING NARRATIVE: ASSERTING COLLINS EDEMA AS A BEACON OF HOPE TO ALL ITSEKIRIS
As the Representative of Ogiame Atuwatse III CFR, the Olu of Warri, to NNPCL and its JV partners, Mr. Collins Edema has redefined the office of the Sole Representative in ways that have brought tangible value to the entire Itsekiri Nation. His stewardship has been marked by dedication, transparency, and an unwavering commitment to the welfare of Ogiame’s children.
Under his watch, the Palace Empowerment Programme was not only sustained but strengthened. It was during his tenure that he encouraged the initiative as a way to cushion the harsh economic realities faced by Itsekiri sons and daughters. Beyond this, he has championed multiple programmes aimed at uplifting Itsekiri children and teenagers, as well as youths across Warri Kingdom programmes that continue to inspire growth, empowerment, and hope.
The recent backlash directed at his name comes largely from individuals who do not understand the immense battles he has fought and the sacrifices he has made in defending Itsekiri interests at the highest levels. The truth remains that Mr. Collins Edema is a businessman who earns his living from his private ventures, not from the empowerment funds meant for the people. Once Ogiame approves and releases funds, he has no discretion but to ensure prompt and accurate payment to the beneficiaries. Any claim suggesting that he redirects or benefits personally from these funds is entirely false.
While we acknowledge the harsh economic climate confronting everyone, it is important that we continue to defend those who have consistently defended the Warri Throne and the Itsekiri Nation. Mr. Collins Edema has stood firmly for our people, and it is only fair that truth be told and his name protected from unnecessary smear campaigns.
May we continue to value, uplift, and stand by every Itsekiri who stands by the Throne and the progress of Iwere Land.
