Chief Engr. Dr. Olley Wilson Edun Reaffirms Unity and Leadership Among Itsekiri Youths
At a gathering held today at the former INYC Secretariat in Odion, Chief Ojoye Engr. Dr. Olley Wilson Edun addressed members of the Ugbarajo Itsekiri Youths (UIY), emphasizing the importance of unity among Itsekiri youths. He made it clear that UIY remains the recognized umbrella body for all Itsekiri youths in the Warri Kingdom.
Chief Olley reminded the gathering that the Itsekiri people, both at home and in the diaspora, are guided by a single, revered authority, Ogiame Atuwatse III CFR The Olu of Warri. He stressed that the Olu’s decisions remain final in matters concerning Warri Kingdom and should be respected without reservation.
Furthermore, Chief Engr Olley emphasized that the disrespect of the throne has symbolically ended today. He also asserted that the former INYC Secretariat is automatically now Ugbarajo Itsekiri Youths-UIY Secretariat. It’s important to note that nobody is bigger than Itsekiri.
He further stated that the INYC is now defunct, urging all Itsekiri youths to align themselves with the Olu’s directive by rallying under the UIY. According to him, this collective alignment is essential for maintaining order, unity, and progress within the kingdom.
