HEADLINE: AVC Declares Statewide Raiding, Anti-Cultism Campaign as State Command Moves to Halt Killings in Abraka, Eku

ASABA, DELTA STATE – The Delta State Command of the Anti-Cult Volunteer Corps (AVC) has announced a statewide raiding operation and anti-cultism campaign following an emergency security meeting on cult-related killings in Abraka and Eku.

The meeting, held on 2nd May, 2026, was presided over by Anti-Cult State Commandant, Chief Kelvin Uvieghara, with State Executive members and the Unit Commanders of Abraka and Eku and other volunteers in attendance.

KEY RESOLUTIONS FROM THE EMERGENCY MEETING:

1. Abraka Unit – Efe’s Suspension Lifted
The Command reviewed the suspension of Comr. Efe of Abraka Unit and ruled that it did not follow due process.
Directive: The suspension stands lifted. The Abraka Unit is to revisit the case and ensure constitutional procedure is followed.

2. Eku Unit – Briefing on Cult Crisis
The Eku Unit Commander briefed the house on the remote and immediate causes of the recent cult clashes and the “court war” in Eku, including steps taken to manage the situation.

3. Ban on Unauthorized Joint Operations
Disturbed by reports of uncoordinated actions, the State Commander issued a standing directive:
All AVC personnel are restricted from engaging in operations with other outfits without express authorization from their Unit/Zonal Commanders. Any breach will attract disciplinary action.

4. Statewide Anti-Cultism & Anti-Drug Campaign
Directive: All Zonal Commanders are to collaborate with the State Admin to organize a statewide sensitization campaign against cultism and hard drugs across schools, markets, and communities in Delta State.

5. Statewide Raiding Approved – Operation to Begin from Eku-Igun
To clamp down on cult cells, the State Command has approved a statewide raiding operation targeting known hideouts. The operation will commence from the Eku-Igun axis before extending to other flashpoints.

The State Commander charged all commanders to step up intelligence gathering and maintain the highest level of discipline.

The meeting was adjourned on a motion moved by Abraka Unit Commander, Comr. Young Kerry, seconded by Comr. Osandatuwa Priscilla. Closing prayers were offered by the Eku Deputy Commander.
