Rivers Monarch Calls for Establishment of Business School in Port Harcourt to Boost Local Economy
The Paramount Ruler of Rumuolumeni Kingdom in Obio/Akpor LGA, Rivers State, HRH. King Chukwuemeka V.E.N. Woji Okocha Orlumeni, has called for the establishment of a Business School in Port Harcourt, modeled after the renowned Lagos Business School.
The monarch emphasized the need for such an institution to collaborate with the Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stating that it would strengthen the city’s business ecosystem and provide local entrepreneurs with the knowledge and tools to compete nationally and globally.
“Following a thorough examination of the Lagos business environment and the influence of the Lagos Business School, I have reached the conclusion that Port Harcourt needs a Business School to partner with the Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce and Industry,” King Okocha said.
He stressed the importance of bringing in fresh expertise and innovative thinking to reposition Port Harcourt as a thriving hub for business and entrepreneurship.
Raising concerns about the growing trend of prominent business owners relocating from Rivers State to Lagos, the monarch asked:
“Is the exodus of prominent entrepreneurs from Rivers State to Lagos truly advantageous for the Port Harcourt business environment?”
