President Tinubu Sends N1.48trn Rivers State Budget to National Assembly
President Bola Tinubu on Thursday transmitted a budget proposal of N1.48 trillion for the Rivers State Government to the National Assembly for consideration and approval.
The President explained that the new budget proposal became necessary following the nullification of the state’s 2025 budget by the Supreme Court, as well as the current emergency rule in the state.
According to him, ₦324 billion of the proposed amount will be allocated to infrastructure, ₦166 billion to health, ₦75.6 billion to education, and ₦31.4 billion to agriculture.
He noted that the agricultural component of the budget is expected to generate about 6,000 jobs, and urged the National Assembly to expedite passage of the budget in the interest of the state and its residents.
