Order Elcrest, NDPC, NUPRC to stop fraudulent Benin River OML40 HCDT – ILG tells Tinubu, Oborevwori

The Itsekiri liberation group blows hot calls on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, Governor Sheriff Oborovwore to direct Elcrest, NPDC and NUPRC to order, and stop forthwith the fraudulent Benin River OML40 Host community trust established for Ijaw and Itsekiri to institute fictitious communities for Ijaw on Itsekiri God Given land

The Itsekiri liberation group has condemned in strong terms the establishment of joint Benin River host community development trust for Itsekiri and Ijaw ethnic groups. We therefore call on the president of the federal Republic of Nigeria, state government and NUPRC to halt the process and do the right thing by establishing a different HCDT for both Itsekiri and Ijaw ethnic groups separately within Warri North, Warri south west, part of Edo and ondo state, because this marriage is dead on arrival and fraudulent in nature

Furthermore, what is worrisome in the HCDT is that Itsekiri land belonging to Koko, Ureju, Obonteghareda, Ebrohimi etc where Ijaws reside for the purposes of fishing and are distinctly fishing camps (shanties) numbering over eleven were listed as Ijaw communities in the Benin River OML40 Host community trust and this is unacceptable to the Itsekiri ethnic groups.

Additionally, we are asking that Elcrest, NPDC and NUPRC, should never list any Itsekiri land or rename any Itsekiri communities in Warri North as Ijaw communities to make up HCDT for the Ijaws.

We therefore demand strongly that the federal government of Nigeria directs its agency saddled with the responsibility of registration HCDT to do the needful by registering separate HCDT for Itsekiri and Ijaw ethnic national in the Benin River axis of Warri North, Warri south west, part of Edo and ondo state to guarantee peace, Justin, fairness and proper appropriation and utilisation of the funds met for different distinct ethnic nationalities.
