Okere Youth Executives Empower Children at Junior Bakers Boot Camp
The Okere Community Youth Executives on Monday hosted the Junior Bakers Boot Camp 1.0 at the Okere Community Town Hall, empowering children with practical skills in baking and entrepreneurship.
Hence the programme, organised in partnership with R/B Roli Bakes and Events, targeted children aged 10–15 and attracted no fewer than 25 participants. It was fully sponsored by the newly sworn-in youth executives led by Chairman Sisanmi Jalogho and Secretary Tsemaye Popo.
Participants were introduced to basic baking techniques, food hygiene, measurements and simple recipes, while also learning values such as discipline, teamwork and confidence. For many of the children, it was their first hands-on exposure to a baking environment.
Parents and community members praised the initiative for providing a safe and productive learning space during the school break. Speaking on the programme, youth leaders described the boot camp as the first in a series of skills-acquisition initiatives aimed at nurturing talent and promoting self-reliance from an early age.
In conclusion, the Chairman of the Okere Community Management Committee, Fred Olomuro, was present to supervise and encourage the participants, reinforcing the community’s support for youth development initiatives.
