Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri Flags Off Statewide Thank You Tour, Visits Brass LGA

Governor of Bayelsa State, Douye Diri, has commenced a statewide “Thank You” tour to the eight local government areas of the state, beginning with Brass Local Government Area, to express appreciation to the people for their support during his re-election in November 2023 and his subsequent inauguration in February 2024.

Speaking during the visit on Monday, Governor Diri, who was accompanied by his Deputy, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, and other top government officials, expressed gratitude to the traditional ruler, HRM King Alfred Diete-Spiff, and the people of Brass for their overwhelming support during the last governorship election, regardless of party affiliation.

Governor Diri took the opportunity to travel through the Kiberi River and along the asphalted section of the ongoing Nembe-Brass Road project, which he said significantly reduced travel time.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to completing the landmark road, and also commended the Federal Government for awarding the second phase of the project.

Responding to the community’s request for improved healthcare services, Governor Diri directed the Commissioner for Health to begin a comprehensive renovation of the Twon-Brass General Hospital to enhance healthcare delivery in the area.

The tour is part of the governor’s efforts to show appreciation to Bayelsans for their continued trust and support for his administration.
