Comr. Andrew Boyo Has Frowned Against INEC’s Unfair Proposed Warri Federal Constituency Ward Delineation Report.
In a press statement earlier this morning, the Trust Chairman of Jakpa Community in Warri North LGA of Delta State Comr. Andrew Boyo has expressed his displeasure over the Independent National Electoral Commissions(INEC) unfair, unjust and biased proposed Ward delineation of Warri Federal Constituency report. He stated that it was an abberation for INEC to reduce the wards of Itsekiri’s who are majority in the Constituency and increase the wards of Urhobo’s and Ijaws who are minorities in the Constituency.
According to him, it was alleged that some Ijaws and Urhobo’s manipulated and bribed INEC to tactically annihilate the Itsekiri ethnic nationality in the proposed Ward Delineation in the report of Warri Federal Constituency. It is alarming that INEC had to unfairly treat Itsekiri’s in this way.
The Jakpa Trust Chairman gave examples of different lacunas in the INEC kangaroo report. He stated that in Warri South LGA for example, the Constitution and legal wards are ten(10) i.e eight(8) for Itsekiri’s and two(2) for Urhobo’s. However, in the report, INEC proposed 9 wards for Urhobo’s, 8 wards for Itsekiri’s and 3 wards for Ijaws. This is preposterous because we all know Ijaws are not from Warri South LGA.
In Warri North LGA for example, the original legal wards includes six(6) wards for Itsekiri’s and four(4) wards for Ijaws. However, the proposed report by INEC gave Ijaws who were having just four wards to have 15 wards, while Itsekiri’s who were having 6 wards to have just 5 wards. This proposed Ward Delineation report is obviously a reflection of the dirt, rot and corruption in INEC.
Also, he used the opportunity to commend his elder brother Hon. Prince. Evangelist Michael Diden for speaking up for Itsekiri people as it relates to the constant attacks by Ijaws and Tantita security on Itsekiri Communities. He applauded him for his bold step in defending the Itsekiri ethnic group against oppression by the Ijaws and Tantita Security.
In conclusion, he stated that he has joined well meaning Itsekiri’s both at home and in diaspora to condenm and reject the INEC’s proposed Ward Delineation report of Warri Federal Constituency. He called on the Federal Government and critical stakeholders to caution INEC against this evil act of INEC which may cause unrest in Warri Federal Constituency.
