Empowering Itsekiri Youths: IYE Seeks Collaboration With Delta State Government

The Itsekiri Youths Elites (IYE) lead by the President Comr. Lily-white O Esigbone and the Secretary Comr. Eboma Micheal Tuoyo recently undertook a significant familiarization visit to Amb. Dr. Toyin Agbolayah, the Special Adviser to the Delta State Governor on Community Affairs. During this visit, the leadership of IYE earnestly implored Amb. Dr. Agbolayah to leverage his esteemed position to attract increased empowerment initiatives directed toward the Itsekiri youths. This appeal is made in alignment with the Governor’s overarching agenda of “ MORE for all Deltans,” which seeks to ensure equitable development and opportunities for every citizen of the state.

Furthermore, the leadership highlighted a pressing concern regarding the marginalization of Itsekiri youths, particularly in matters pertaining to appointments within the state government.

They underscored the need for greater inclusivity and representation of the Itsekiri youth community in decision-making processes to ensure that the voices of the youth are heard and considered. In light of these discussions, the IYE remains hopeful that meaningful dialogue will lead to the establishment of programmes and policies that will enhance the socio-economic well-being of Itsekiri youths, thereby fostering a more equitable and prosperous Delta State for all its citizens.
