Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, celebrates his 50th birthday at the Government House in Port Harcourt.

The Governor was deeply moved when his wife, Lady Valerie Fubara, and state stakeholders surprised him with a 50th birthday celebration at the Governor’s Lodge, Port Harcourt, on Tuesday, January 28, 2025.

The event was attended by dignitaries such as former PDP National Chairman Uche Secondus, Rivers State House of Assembly Speaker Rt. Hon. Victor Oko-Jumbo, and former Governor Sir Celestine Omehia.

Expressing his gratitude, Governor Fubara said, “I feel humbled and overwhelmed. I’ve never been one to celebrate birthdays in this way, but this is truly special.” He pledged to remain humble, committed to serving the people, and focused on achieving a prosperous Rivers State. “Power is transient. I will uphold the trust of the people and God,” he added.

Uche Secondus, in a goodwill message, highlighted the importance of supporting the governor, describing him as God’s ordained leader for the state.

The Deputy Governor, Prof. Ngozi Odu, alongside State Executive Council members, local government chairmen, advisers, and service commanders, presented gifts and tributes to the governor, making the occasion a memorable milestone in his life and leadership.
