- 19 Years Later, Nigeria Still Remembers Late Nollywood Actor J.T. Tom West
Today marks 19 years since the passing of Tamuno-Bididamaa Tom-West, popularly known as J.T. Tom West, the talented Nollywood actor who died on September 28, 2006, in Lagos.
J.T. Tom West, who was a native of Rivers State and born in Port Harcourt, became a household name through his outstanding performance in the blockbuster “State of Emergency”, a movie that won him admiration across Nigeria.
He featured in over 30 movies and was known as Nollywood Bad Boy.
Tragically, the actor was involved in a ghastly motor accident on September 25, 2006, while returning from a movie location, and he passed away three days later.
Nearly two decades on, his contribution to Nollywood’s growth continues to be celebrated, as fans and colleagues remember him as one of the industry’s unforgettable trailblazers.
