Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno Moves To Revive Ibom Tropicana
Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, has reaffirmed his commitment to reviving the long abandoned Ibom Tropicana complex by reconstructing the International Convention Centre and Hotel as part of the ARISE Agenda’s tourism push.
During an unscheduled inspection, the Governor stressed the need to complete the project, citing the massive state funds already invested. He emphasized the importance of the 5,000-seat Convention Centre and its 200-room hotel for economic diversification and tourism.
“We must put our money where our mouth is,” Eno stated. “You don’t get what you expect in Africa; you get what you inspect.”
He also revealed plans for a Public-Private Partnership to manage the shopping mall and theme park within the complex, ahead of the official project flag-off next week.
